Native iOS and Android apps
Custom native development: iOS app development in Swift and Android app development in Kotlin, for apps built on real-time odds, live scores, biometrics, system features and device SDKs such as geolocation. Native makes sense when the app is your main channel and the budget supports two codebases.
Flutter cross-platform apps
Our preferred cross-platform path: one Flutter codebase for iOS and Android, with native modules where a feature needs them. It makes sense when you want one team and a shared product roadmap across both platforms, with a custom app interface and access to native capabilities.
Hybrid apps with web UI
An app with a native or Flutter core that embeds your web sportsbook or casino, when the budget or the platform calls for it. We scope the app-specific features and polish the web UI together with the app, so players get a coherent experience across both layers.
Choosing a mobile app development company for real-money apps
Store and jurisdiction review
We prepare real-money apps for App Store and Google Play review, using checklists for the agreed target markets. We coordinate submission through the appropriate developer account, while the operator supplies the required licenses and permissions and approval stays with Apple, Google and the relevant regulators.
Foundations from past releases
Push notifications, splash screens, navigation, and screen and event handling for your analytics come ready from apps we have already released, so your budget goes into the UI and the integrations that set your app apart.
Testing on real devices
Releases are tested on the device farm in our office, against the iOS and Android phones, tablets and system versions agreed for your audience, before anything reaches store review.

FAQ
Should we choose native app development, Flutter or a hybrid app?
It depends on your product requirements, platform and budget. Native Swift and Kotlin provide direct access to platform APIs; Flutter shares application code across iOS and Android and can integrate native modules. Either approach can embed selected web journeys. Apple’s guideline 4.2 calls for functionality and an experience beyond a repackaged website, so we plan the app’s added value together with its web UI. We built Sunbet’s live app in Flutter.
Can you build an app on our current platform and a provider's sportsbook?
Yes, on third-party and proprietary platforms alike. OlyBet’s app runs on the operator’s own platform, while the white-label sportsbook apps we built for Strive Gaming integrate Kambi through an SDK, and its casino apps reuse the same components. Where a provider’s sportsbook or casino stays embedded from the web, we design the native layer around it, within the APIs and agreements your provider offers.
How do you get a real-money app through App Store and Google Play review?
We plan store eligibility and technical requirements from the first sprint, including geo-restrictions under Apple’s guideline 5.3.4 and Google Play’s real-money policy, and market-specific player controls. The operator provides the required licenses and permissions; we coordinate the submission with the operator through the appropriate developer account and handle review feedback. None of our submissions has been rejected to date. Store approval stays with Apple and Google, and regulatory approvals remain with the relevant authorities.
How do geolocation, KYC and payment integrations work inside the app?
We integrate the providers you choose, as SDKs in the app or through your platform, and build the player-facing flows around them: location checks before a bet, identity verification when players register, payments, deposit limits and self-exclusion. Your compliance team defines the requirements, and your platform and providers supply the relevant checks and decisions. We implement the app-side controls and integrations needed to apply them correctly. In KTO’s app for Brazil, this meant biometric KYC, geolocation, betting limits and PIX payments.
What drives the timeline and cost of mobile app development?
Six factors: the build path (wrapper, hybrid, Flutter or native), the native features in scope, the state of your platform’s APIs and web UI, the integrations, the number of jurisdictions and store submissions, and the design work. CrustLab estimates after the Discovery Sprint, when the scope is set.
Who is the owner of the app's code?
You are, for everything built for you: bespoke code and IP are transferred to you under the contract. Reusable CrustLab components, such as our app foundations, come with a perpetual license and modification rights. Third-party SDKs, platforms and services stay on their own terms.
Do you build apps outside real-money iGaming?
Yes. We built Pick24’s social betting apps with LSports data, we build social casino products, and beyond real-money iGaming we built native apps for Carry1st’s mobile games marketplace in six African markets. For Trade Stars, a social trading app with crash game mechanics, we took a Flutter app for iOS and Android to the verge of release.
