ABOUT THIS PROJECT

OlyBet needed to turn a delayed mobile initiative into a production-ready application that could support its sportsbook and casino offer across iOS and Android. The challenge was not only speed. The app had to integrate with OlyBet’s proprietary platform, support jurisdiction-specific security and identity flows, and provide a regulated-market-ready foundation for OlyBet’s multi-jurisdiction rollout, starting in the Baltics.

CrustLab designed and delivered a hybrid mobile architecture based on a custom Flutter core with embedded web views for selected betting and casino experiences. This approach reduced delivery risk, accelerated time to market, and created a practical foundation for future nativization of high-impact features. The application was delivered in 5 months under a fixed-budget model and later moved into maintenance.

Why CrustLab?

OlyBet’s choice was grounded in CrustLab’s track record with regulated iGaming operators, including mobile delivery for KTO Group (Brazilian market) and Strive Gaming (US/Canada markets), with Strive Gaming providing the direct referral.

Business challenges

A successful transfer of risk was necessary for strategic expansion into high-value regulated markets through the high-value, mobile-first player segment. Transforming the project into a production-ready asset under a high-stakes, time-sensitive mandate, was the strategic goal CrustLab addressed.

Loss of the High-Value Mobile Player Segment decoration

Mobile applications represent a massive and continuously growing share of the online betting ecosystem. Without a dedicated, stable mobile product, OlyBet was unable to fully engage a high-value segment of mobile-first players, limiting its ability to strengthen retention, increase player lifetime value, and capture market share in an increasingly competitive industry.

Navigating Strict Regulatory Compliance Efficiency and Quality decoration

OlyBet’s growth strategy depended on entering highly regulated jurisdictions, where technical compliance and app store approval are essential market-entry requirements. While the core compliance logic was governed by the underlying platform, the mobile application had to reliably interpret and execute jurisdiction-specific signals, workflows, and security requirements, including support for Smart ID, mobile ID, and biometric authentication, surfaced through the player experience across licensed markets.

Closing the Critical Mobile Capability Gap Efficiency and Quality decoration

Building a native mobile product for the regulated iGaming market required a rare combination of mobile engineering excellence, seamless platform integration, and the ability to translate complex compliance-driven backend logic into a secure, intuitive player experience. With an aggressive five-month delivery timeline and no room for execution errors, OlyBet needed the capability to deliver enterprise-grade quality, stability, and speed simultaneously. This combination significantly increased the risk of internal delivery.

Technical challenges

The mobile application had to integrate reliably with OlyBet's proprietary backend and enterprise IT stack to keep critical functionalities stable. Three integration risks shaped the engineering scope.

Integration with Proprietary Systems decoration

Connecting a modern Flutter front-end to OlyBet’s proprietary iGaming platform featured highly specific API requirements and security protocols. This integration was critical for delivering real-time odds updates, centralized account management, and platform-driven compliance signals.

Data Integrity for Compliance-Driven Features Efficiency and Quality decoration

Maintaining data integrity and stability across the stack was critical for compliance-driven flows. Smart ID, biometric authentication, and responsible gaming limit checks required reliable connectivity on every transaction to keep the player experience secure across licensed markets.

Custom Enterprise Monitoring Stack Efficiency and Quality decoration

Building a monitoring and analytics stack from the ground up, including user activity tracking and crash reporting, was critical for the launch. This infrastructure provided the performance visibility and data stability needed to operate the product across regulated markets.

The Scope of Work
“The implementation worked because OlyBet’s technical team operated as a peer, not as a client. That made it possible to collaborate at the architectural level under the timeline we agreed on.”
01.

PRODUCT DISCOVERY

The technical roadmap was the result of intensive collaborative workshops in Kraków, where both teams acted as strategic partners to finalize the project vision. Every major milestone, including the move to a Flutter-based hybrid architecture, was a consultative decision designed to balance OlyBet’s aggressive time-to-market goals with robust budget control.

02.

MOBILE DEVELOPMENT

CrustLab recommended a hybrid architecture with a custom Flutter core and embedded web views for selected domains. This was a business and delivery decision, not only a technical one. It allowed the team to accelerate launch, reduce implementation risk, and avoid over-investing in full native coverage before validating user behavior and business priorities.

03.

SHADOW RELEASE & LAUNCH

Once the application entered shadow release, the team focused on hardening stability, resolving critical issues, and preparing the product for public launch. This helped OlyBet move from a delayed internal initiative to a production-ready mobile asset within the target timeline.

04.

MAINTENANCE & CONTINUOUS EVOLUTION

Post-launch, the focus shifted to performance monitoring and stability assurance. This continuous engagement focuses on ongoing improvements, feature enhancements, continuous monitoring of app performance, strategic advisory on roadmap and architecture, including a post-launch Product Audit that produced a prioritized optimization roadmap, and preparing the application for future launches in new regulated jurisdictions.

results

CrustLab delivered a production-ready sportsbook and casino app for iOS and Android in 5 months, within the original fixed-budget envelope. The release replaced a delayed internal effort with a launch-ready foundation, which OlyBet subsequently rolled out across the Baltics, Croatia, and France with CrustLab’s ongoing delivery support over the following months.

Equally important, the hybrid architecture created a deliberate path for OlyBet’s iterative product evolution. Instead of overbuilding too early, OlyBet gained a scalable mobile base that supports continued jurisdiction rollouts, optimization, and progressive nativization of selected features.
